The Personal Injury & Clinical Negligence Department is headed up by James Millar Craig who has over 30 year’s experience dealing with a wide range of Personal Injury claims and Clinical Negligence claims. James is an Accredited Member of the Law Society Personal Injury Panel and Member of APIL.

Personal Injury Claims
We act for both Claimants and Defendants in respect of industrial disease claims and specifically in relation to Asbestos and Mesothelioma claims.
We deal with a large number of road traffic injury cases. This includes anything from relatively minor injury cases to major Head Injury and Fatal Accident claims. Royds carry out a large number of cycle accident claims, including many arising in London. We deal with hit and run cases and other claims against untraced or uninsured drivers with the MIB.
Other recent major cases have included a burn injuries case involving a client severely injured when her dress caught fire at a wedding reception. After a disputed High Court claim, substantial damages were recovered.
We deal with a large number of claims for accidents at work. A recent case involving a worker falling through a factory roof suffering very extensive injuries. Another involved a worker falling from a ladder. We have had a number of hand injury claims sustained in accidents at work.
Clinical Negligence Work
We carry out substantial Clinical Negligence claims. These cases can be highly complex and involve detailed enquiries relating to failed operations or treatment at hospitals. The claims involve extensive expert evidence and detailed Counsel advice. We manage these claims efficiently, build up a team and obtain the best and speediest outcome. Often clinical negligence claims are disputed by the NHS Litigation Authority and complicated defence issues are raised regarding causation.
We work on a “No Win No Fee” (CFA) basis where appropriate and act for clients throughout England & Wales. We will visit clients where necessary.
