Royds’ Commercial Litigation Department continues to punch above its weight under Stewart’s leadership. His aims are to consistently provide clients with first class legal advice, and think creatively around complex business issues.
Stewart has been at partner at Royds since 1988 and is currently the Managing Partner. He studied Law at Southampton University and qualified as a solicitor in 1981.

Stewart deals with all aspects of commercial litigation and dispute resolution. He offers specialist advice particularly in the following areas: Banking and Finance, Financial Services Regulation, Airline Industry, Property and Trusts, Partnership and Company disputes and fraud. He acts on behalf of banks, UK and overseas businesses. His court victories include BCCI v State Bank of India, [2003 EWHC 1868 CH].

Stewart is an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, a member of the London Solicitors Litigation Association, the Solicitors European Group and the City of London Law Society.
