Gemma graduated with a law degree from London University in 1997, following a change of career. She started her legal career with Royds in the same year as a Trainee Solicitor, becoming a Partner in 2003.

Expertise and Clients
Since qualifying Gemma has specialised in Employment Law and particularly deals with all forms of Tribunal claims including unfair dismissal, sex, race and disability discrimination, as well as advising on workplace policies such as maternity, paternity and flexible working, staff handbooks, and advice on updating contractual documentation.  Gemma also advises on TUPE transfers and implementing organisational changes and restructures.

Gemma has conducted seminars and workshops aimed at increasing awareness of the constant changes in legislation to the various areas affecting employment law both for the small and large employer and with the emphasis on practical implementation of the legislative requirements. Her clients range from retail outlets and charities to senior level employees and she enjoys dealing with both the employer and employee aspect of the employment relationship.
