A law firm is only as good as its people and so we take great care to recruit and develop the very best staff – both for front line legal roles and for back office support. Unlike some firms, our younger lawyers are an integral part of what we are and what we do – they play an active role in developing our client relationships and shaping the strategy of the firm. And whilst we all work hard, we are keen to promote healthy work-life balance. We are proud that some of our solicitors had different careers before entering the legal profession – so we have former commercial photographers, horse racers and BBC journalists amongst us.
Services
60% of our work is for businesses and other organisations (we work for a number of charities) and 40% for private individuals. Information about our clients and how we look after our clients is in a separate section. The split between the various services is as follows:
Specialist expertise
There are many areas where we have specialist expertise and you might review the section on services for businesses and services for individuals. However, we have a strong reputation for: commercial litigation, retail property, employment, private client (tax, trusts and Wills) and family.
Sector knowledge
The commercial lawyers have particular experience in advising organisations in the airlines and travel, banking, charities, jewellery, property (real estate), retail and technology/telecommunications sectors.
Offices and facilities
We occupy four floors of modern office space in Carter Lane – you should pop in to take a look at our leading architect designed glass staircase – it really is rather lovely. Our basement is home to a suite of conference and meeting rooms which we make available to our clients and local organisations when we can. Commitment to community
As an organisation and as individuals we are committed to supporting our community, whether this is the physical area around our premises or those causes that are close to our hearts. International
A significant number of our clients are either from overseas or have assets or operations in foreign jurisdictions. Many of the transactions and much of the dispute resolution work we do have elements in multiple jurisdictions. Our work and membership of Interleges is described in the international section.
South London
To keep costs low for the many clients who use our residential conveyancing services in and around the area we have a small office in Morden, at the end of the Northern Line. Further information is available at our Royds Residential site.
